A London man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a recreational-vehicle styled truck at an east London intersection Monday (June 29).

Police responded to the intersection of Trafalgar Street and Clarke Road just after 9 a.m., on the report of a serious collision in which a cyclist was struck.

The 21-year-old male was riding a bike westbound on Trafalgar Street when he entered the intersection at Clarke Road. The man was struck by an RV style vehicle, police said, that was traveling north on Clarke Road.

The cyclist was rushed to hospital with "life-threatening injuries," police said.

The intersection was closed for much of the morning as a traffic reconstruction team attended to investigate the scene. Police said the investigation is continuing.

It appears to me the cyclist hit the R/V. The entery door to the R/V was caved in. If one was going northbound and the other westbound, someone ran the red light.
