Brandon Wright, 22 (pictured top left), was the victim of a serious assault Sept. 8. Alexander Myros, 22, faces multiple charges in connection with the incident.
The suspect wanted in connection with a serious assault on a gay London man was arrested at the London International Airport, Thursday evening (Sept. 24).

Police said Alexander Myros, 22, suspected in what police are calling a hate crime against , Brandon Wright, 22, earlier this month, was arrested at the London airport and is scheduled to appear in court Friday (Sept. 25).

The incident, which occurred Sept. 8 just after 11:30 a.m. on Kipps Lane near Belfield Street, was thrown into the spotlight when the national gay men's website, Xtra.ca, reported the incident as a hate crime, Sept. 14.

Wright, an event manager and modeling agent in London, jumped from a moving, black pick-up truck, following what he said was a violent attack inflicted on him.

According to Wright, the suspect said, "Because you're gay you need to be punished. I'm going to fucking kill you and you're a faggot."

"It is alleged that a hate based statement was said by the suspect following which the victim was struck several times with an object," said London police in a media release.

"The victim, fearing for his safety, jumped from the moving vehicle," police said.

Wright has claimed he met with the suspect after conversing with him via Internet messaging. He said Myros had indicated an interest in modelling and agreed to meet him near a variety store on Kipps lane.

When Wright told Myros he didn't think he would be successful as a male model, he claims Myros lured him to his pick truck and began assaulting him as they drove along Kipps Lane.

Myros, a former London Silverbacks Football player, was hailed a hero back in June when the Silverback's team bus was involved in a fiery head-on crash with an SUV in the U.S. state of Indiana. Myros helped save the lives of two youth, a 16-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy, pulling the kids from the burning SUV. The mother of the youths died in the crash.

Myros faces charges of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, forcible confinement and two counts of uttering threats to cause death.
