The London Knights will have to muster a come-from-behind effort after dropping the first two games to the Guelph Storm in the first round of OHL playoff action.
Coming off a 3-2 overtime loss to the Storm Friday (March 21), the Knights were dominated by Guelph in a 4-1 loss at the Sleeman Centre on Saturday, and will need to focus on chasing the Storm who now lead the series two games to none.
The Knights opened the scoring early in the first period, on a beautiful two-man passing play between Phil Varone and Steven Tarasuk. The pair gained the zone nearing the midway mark of the first. Tarasuk fed Varone on left wing, who quickly dumped the puck back into the kill zone, setting up Tarasuk for the deflection and a 1-0 London lead.
But that was it for the Knights lighting the lamp, as Guelph scored four unanswered goals in the second and third periods, handing London the 4-1 loss and gaining a two-game lead in the series.
Game three goes back to the John Labatt Centre, Tuesday (March 25). The puck drops at 7 p.m.
