Londoners came out and celebrated Tuesday (July 1), with Canada Day celebrations taking place across the city, and as they smiled, the weather smiled right back at em' – making for a truly happy 141st birthday for Canada.

There was the usual Canada Day fare, with balloons, cake, face painting and fireworks, and plenty of the red and white to go around.

It was a day when London's diversity was demonstrated by the many hands that grasped many little flags, and not just those of the 40 new Canadians that were officially welcomed to this country with a Citizenship Ceremony at the Argyle Arena and Community Centre, but also by the many families and children, each carrying a unique culture, all melding as one to rejoice in the true melting pot that is Canada.
