Ex-Leafs coach Burns says Tiger Woods had teeth knocked out
Showing the appetite for details of Tiger Woods' meltdown knows no bounds, former NHL coach Pat Burns has offered his take on the night the world's best golfer crashed his SUV just outside his Florida home.
During his daily interview with CKAC Sports radio in Montreal on Tuesday, Burns says he was told by police acquaintances in Florida that Woods' wife Elin Nordegren hit her husband with a golf club – leaving Woods with a deep cut on the cheek and two missing front teeth – after reading texts from another woman on his cellphone.

Ontario considers neck guards for referees after linesman's throat slashed
The Ontario Hockey Association will discuss whether neck guards should be mandatory for hockey officials, after a linesman had his throat cut as he tried to break up a fight during a Junior C game.
"Obviously the situation will be reviewed by our board," said president Brent Ladds, who said the issue would be raised at a meeting in January. "Our first hurdle is to hopefully to get Kevin though this, then concentrate on other things."

Poll: Tiger Woods' popularity plummets
The popularity of golfer Tiger Woods has plummeted in the weeks since his now-infamous car crash and infidelity admission, according to a new poll. In the survey conducted December 16-20, Woods' favorable rating dropped to 34 percent. That compares to a rating of 60 percent in early December, days after Woods' crash. In 2005, the star golfer's favorable rating was at 85 percent.
